STORY

THE FOX & TURTLE

For want of a better meal, a starving fox once captured a turtle, but it could not manage to break through the solid shell in order to eat it.

'You should try putting me in the water for a while to soften me up,' suggested the shrewd turtle.

This sounded like an excellent idea to the fox. He carried his prey to the stream and immersed it in the currents. The turtle, who was a superb swimmer, escaped and exclaimed 'There are animals who are even more cunning than you!'

The fox knew better! He, nor the turtle, needed to go hungry! The Fox yelled out to the turtle and said, 'my dear friend, join me for a meal you’ll never forget!'.

They locked arms and made their way to the Fox and Turtle in Itasca!

The Fox & Turtle was previously the private dining room of the Itasca Country Club. Now open to the public, the Fox & Turtle is a relaxed, upscale American pub serving fresh ingredients in a rustic pub setting with amazing views of the beautiful Itasca Country Club golf course. The restaurant was named after the foxes and turtles that are known to roam the course. Opened in April 2015 to provide the community with a chef-driven menu (under the direction of Executive Chef Ranferi “Ron” Flores - pictured to the right) and over 30 craft beers on tap (see full craft menu here.
